I don’t know much about my current therapist because I’ve just started seeing her. I think I like her though… no awkward silences, and I didn’t feel like she was just staring me down the entire time. I had no problems making eye contact with her, which is HUGE for me. I have a hard time getting my feelings out through words and I didn’t feel like she was sitting there the entire time thinking I was a total idiot. So… I think I like her.
Looks like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is what we’ll be working with. Something I’ve never tried before.
I’ve been in and out of therapy for about 15 years. I usually stop going because I get overwhelmed and feel like a hopeless case.
So….. we will see.
